#JABpodcast 112 (What it Takes)

Welcome back JABsquad, lets go in for some more boxing talk. Last weekend we had an entertaining fight between unified champion Vasyl Lomachenko and Luke Campbell. This was a fight that opened our eyes to Lomachenko as a good fighter but not a great fighter honestly. I think Lomachenko was in a tougher fight than the scorecards read. Luke Campbell definitely gave his all but he didn’t have the next level to completely over throw Lomachenko. Does this new crop of 135lbers have the ability to dethrone Vasyl Lomachenko?

Also today was the NYC press conference for the rematch between heavyweight champion Andy Ruiz, Jr. and Anthony Joshua. Looking at AJ and listening to his speech, questions still float around, is he ready for this rematch? Can he grasp the flaws and the humility he faced in the first fight only six months ago? Only December 7 will tell us, but we break it down and give you our thoughts on the rematch. So stay tuned and subscribe!

#JABpodcast 111 (Levels to Learn)

Sergey Kovalev had a tough but entertaining battle with a green but tough opponent in Anthony Yarde. So lets talk about levels in the game and how important it is to graduate from each level to prepare yourself for the top. So many factors have to fall into place. A good and honest trainer and a fighter ready to be humble and grow all helps a fighter in his path. Anthony Yarde had a wake up call in his fight with Sergey Kovalev but was this a road he should have avoided for the time being? We talk about all that on this episode of the #JABpodcast!

#JABpodcast 110 (The Goods)

Boxing fans welcome back to another #JABpodcast episode, this weekend we have an interesting yet very dangerous match up in Sergey Kovalev vs. Anthony Yarde. Yarde is getting his first crack at a title after only 18 fights in the game. Tonight we’re gonna talk about how is this even possible, and is it wise for an unproven prospect to skip contender status and jump straight in with a veteran in Kovalev? Will Yarde have enough power, youth, and athleticism to overcome the power, timing, and skill that Kovalev has developed throughout the years of his career?

Also we discuss our first look at Errol Spence Jr vs Shawn Porter, and how this fight may just turn in to the biggest fight at 147. Does Spence have enough fire power to tame the bulldog in Shawn Porter? Will Shawn Porter bring out the bulldog? So much to talk about tonight on this episode so stay tuned and give us a listen and subscribe!!!

Whats up JABsquad we are back with another episode. Today we wanna pay our respects to a legend we lost in the sport, Pernell “Sweet Pea” Whittaker (January 2, 1964 – July 14, 2019). We discuss what kind of impact he had on us as boxing fans as well as the game.

We revisit Saturday night Manny Pacquiao vs. Keith Thurman, and talk about the outcome of this fight as well as what was on Keith’s mind going into this match. Did he really wanna prove he could beat a legend or cash out?? Was he underestimating Manny by taking him on as a “Get Back” fight? Will Manny be able to recapture elite status by continuing on in today’s era of champions? All of this is discussed on the “Just Absolutely Boxing” podcast! so make sure you subscribe!!

#JABpodcast 107 (Hunger Games)

Manny Pacquiao vs Keith Thurman at MGM Grand Garden Arena July 20th.

As we get closer to July 20th, we take a look at the Manny Pacquiao vs. Keith Thurman fight and ask several questions? Does Manny still have the hunger to get a win? Can he just depend on his experience in the ring to deal with a Keith Thurman? Keith Thurman who has been wanting this fight for years has been seen as the favorite in this fight and it puts a lot of questions in our mind. Is Keith Thurman really ready to show the world who he can be? And can Keith Thurman prepare for the aftermath for a win over Manny? SO many questions so little time but we try and discuss all that on the “Just Absolutely Boxing” podcast so make sure you subscribe!!

Welcome back boxing fans this evening lets revisit Gennady Golovkins DAZn debut against Steve Rolls. As far as performance theres not much to say. But we gotta ask ourselves is ready for a third fight with Canelo, and are we going to see him in there with another fighter besides Canelo? Golovkin supposedly has a deal for six fights in three years so we are expecting some elite opponents!

Also lets talk a little about this Tyson Fury fight and Tom Schwarz, who is really checking for this fight? When Fury is seen at the lineal champion shouldn’t he be on that next level??
